Bongtud Elementary School of Tandag District I, Tandag, Surigao del Sur is a learning institution located at the back of Tandag Gymnasium in Barangay Bongtud, Tandag City. Through the aid of the TEEP project, it made its continuous improvement from the time it was founded in the year 1998 – 1999 until it became a fully TEEP school recipient in the year 2006 – 2007, with 375 pupils as its initial enrolment. Almost all pupils are coming from indigent families whose parents could hardly afford to procure school supplies and other daily needs.     Bongtud Elementary School is composed of 20 faculty members including the school head. Two kinder teachers are subsidized by the Dep. Ed. with a salary of Three thousand Pesos and Five Hundred Pesos monthly from barangay allotment fund as their honorarium. The school has one volunteer teacher assign in the principals’ office as secretary and often acted as a substitute in case if the adviser or regular teacher is on official business.
